***UPDATE***
Mr. Engineer
texted ME last night and said, "Sorry I couldn't come to hang with you last night. What are you doing tonight?"
He totally thinks I sent that text.
He wanted to do something last night.
UGH
BRITT LAUGHING
HYSTERICALLY***END OF UPDATE***
I swear, sometimes God sits up in Heaven and laughs at me. And it's not because I told a funny joke (although ask me to share the Polar Bear joke sometime). It's not because I'm a crack up. It's not because I'm so witty.
It's because he sure does have a sense of humor. Take, for example, this situation:
The one guy I actually like disappears.
The one guy I have NO ATTRACTION to whatsoever is madly in love with me.
Go figure.
Ok, well maybe he's not madly in love with me, but I know he has a little crush on me.
I mean, what can I say? I am pretty fabulous and all...But enough about me.
Remember Mr. Teacher and Engineer? Remember this
POST?Mr. Teacher and Ms. Teacher (aka Britt) have been "getting to know each other." They have hung out a few times, they have
texted back and forth, and they have talked on the phone several times. Last night, Britt was out with a bunch of her teacher friends, so she invited Mr. Teacher and me to come out with them. I was hoping Mr. Teacher wouldn't bring Mr. Engineer, and he did not, so I was off the hook with having to entertain the dude.
As the night went on, Mr. Teacher turns to me and says, "So...You have his number. You should call him and invite him out."
I go: "No, I actually don't have his number. You should just call him. He's your
roommate and all."
(Oh, as a side note, I haven't mentioned yet that I got a call from a strange number this week. It was a 303 number, so the person was from Denver. I was at practice so I couldn't have answered it even if I wanted to, but I don't answer strange numbers. If they want to speak to me, they can leave me a message. This person didn't leave a message. Britt and I are pretty confident it was Mr. Engineer, but she wanted me to call/text it back and ask who it was. If I do that, I run the risk of having to talk to him... So, I still don't know who called me)
He goes: "No, no, no. You should call him. He'll come out if you call. If I call, he'll say he's going to bed."
I go: "That's OK. I'm fine with not calling him."
He goes: "Fine, I'll text him."
He proceeds to type a text. Being the curious person that I am, I ask to see the text before he sends it. It says: "Hi, this is
Shilo. I would love it if you came out to grab a drink with us."
I go: "First of all, spell my name right. It has a H at the end. Second of all, please don't send that."

UGH
BOO
Mr. Engineer replied: "Thanks for the offer, but I have to work tomorrow so I'm going to stay in tonight. Have fun."
PHEW
It didn't end there, however. For the rest of the night, Mr. Teacher proceeded to tell me all the great qualities about Mr. Engineer and all the reasons why I should date him. Britt did not help with the situation, as she was helping out his cause.
I politely told Mr. Teacher I'm not interested, but the teasing lasted all night. I am ALL for being friends with these guys and hanging out, but I do not want Mr. Engineer to think that I like him. I also don't want Mr. Teacher reporting back that I hate Engineer's guts!
Anyway, Mr. Engineer likes me. I do not like him.
Go figure.
Laugh all you want, God.
