The last birthday we celebrated was Case's birthday, which was June 22. He turned 5, and he's been looking forward to this age since the time he turned 4. I think he wanted to catch up with Kye, but he forgot that Kye would continue to get older, too. Nonetheless, Case is a very happy 5 year old and so much fun to be around. He always makes us laugh, and he's so smart and mature.
Case wanted a Spiderman theme for this party, so Shannon obliged. It was at a park, but of course it happened to be during the week of our 105 degree temperatures. Luckily, we were under a canopy and there was a river nearby that we were able to wade through.
The party was a hit! There was plenty of cake and punch to cool everyone off, and the boys had a blast playing together.
These boys are all Case's best friends. He's quite the social boy.
Shannon (with Jeff's help) made this cool Spiderman cake. This is cake number three. Cake number one was a practice cake that turned out great and tasted yummy. We all devoured it the week prior. Cake number two was the wrong color. Cake number three finally made the cut. Again, Shannon said, "I'm hiring a baker next year."
Spiderman even made an appearance at the party!
Since it was too hot at the park, all the presents were brought home to be opened. Case scored well and had so many toys he didn't know what to play with first.
Happy 5th birthday, dear Case. You are a joy to have around, and it's been so much fun to see you grow up and learn. You'll do well in this world!
